I know this is extraordinarily late, but I didn't see that you got a response. If this is still an issue I suggest you check the policies in screen 2 of the manufacturing item master. I suspect that what is there is not what you really want. We MPS intermediates in multilevel BOM's and do not have this problem at all. Let me know if any additional suggestions are desired. The routes for our finished goods consists of multil-level BOM's, i.e. we can have one route for the finished good and another for the intermediate item which is in the BOM for the finished good and this could go on for another 4 more levels. Our standard lot size for each route varies according to the item produced. In the finished item BOM, we say that one piece of the intermediate item is required to produce one piece of the finished item. The problem comes when we run MPS to suggest works orders. In our situation, MPS would suggest the correct quantity to be produced for the finished item but when it comes to the intermediate item, it takes the works order quantity for the finished good and multiplies it by the standard lot size of the intermediate item to get the works order quantity for the intermediate item. e.g. Works order quantity for the finished item is 100. Finished Item A - standard lot size is 100 Intermediate Item AA - standard lot size is 100 MPS would suggest two works orders: W000001 for finished item A with a quantity of 100 W000002 for intermediate item with a quantity of 10000 Has anyone experienced this elsewhere.
