Sales kits are an SOP issue only.  Demand is for the kit components only while pricing is driven by the kit parent.  MRP should be planning the kit components, whether purchased or manufactured, and should be ignoring the kit parent when it does its extract of demand.

 

The Manufacturing Where-used inquiry is only over bills of material.  There is however, option 1/INE Kit list where used to provide visibility of where a component is used.

We use the kitting feature in SOP for fufilling service part orders.  I am concerned though, because it doesn't show up on 10/MDE Where-used inquiries.

 

I am also suspecting that MRP doesn't look at it either.   Does anyone have any experience with this.  (We are currently not doing MRP within System 21.)
