PO Negative Quantity On Order

We experienced a similar situation with scheduled purchase orders.  It has
only happened once, to all plants, but only to a small select group of
items. Based on our research, we attributed the situation to processing
year 2001 requirements without having a year 2001 manufacturing calendar
set up.  We have not experienced any other negative order quantities after
creating the 2001 manufacturing calendars. JBA consultants doubted our
conclusion but have none of their own.  This situation also creates a
"reserved" amount in the purchase order making it difficult to maintain the
open purchase order.  In addition, we experienced a lot of related problems
depending on how the user tried to "receive" against the negative quantity
purchase order line.
