Have you tried Process Groups? Do you have them in the Style Product. We are a Food manufacturing company. We are using 3.5.2b. We have tried them with some success in processing oranges to make marmalade. The input is an orange and from that we obtain two separate intermediate products: the pulp and the peel. Process groups also allow you to vary the ratio of outputs per booking. There are some issues that we have had with Process Groups - costing and route maintenance is a little tricky - but they may be worth investigating. Can I safely assume that no one else has this need or am I just out in left field. Charles Greene -----Original Message----- From: Charles Greene [mailto:greenec@millercurtain.com] Sent: Friday, September 01, 2000 1:36 PM To: JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com Subject: Co-Products We are realizing a need to identify co products made in a route. For example we make curtains. We trim 5" of fabric off of a bolt of material and make a curtain with the rest. But the 5" is used to make a tie-back. The curtain is the finished good and where the route is attached but the tie-back is also sold. It's route calls for 5" material. We never get any 5" material in to our system since out of the curtain route the 5" is trimmed off as a step in the process but it needs to create a receipt of the 5" material. Using Style V3.5 service pack B. Charles Greene Miller Curtain Co.
