  • Subject: program OE303 (additional overrides)

We are at V3.5.1.  On 1/23/97 JBA made PTF OEV3_0907 to the program, which I believe is in error.  Basically, it does this:

If WT is not attached, the default for field VACOF1 (VAT country) is taken from COCD05 (customer country code, a mandatory field in A/R custmast maint).  The original version of OE303 used TXCT05 for the default, which is blank if WT is not used  The program logic does not allow entry of a VAT country without also entering a VAT registration id.  If WT is not being used, why populate VAT county in the first place?  Can anyone look in later versions of this program and see if this PTF was removed.  We've done extensive mods to this program to get both header and line level VAT overrides to work, as well as other types of header overrides, none of which worked originally.

Also, I am new to GEAC's web site http://customer.system21.com.  Does anyone know if there is a way to view source code within the site?

Last question:  We understand that GEAC will no longer deliver JBA source code to new customers, and depending on existing contracts, may stop delivering source to existing customers.  What have you heard?  Does anyone believe that a company using JBA would survive w/o source, given the extent of bugs, lack of documentation, and inadequate support due to high JBA employee turnover?
