I am sorry Gary, I am not sure, precisely, what this expression means... "(ie raising of the batch card)". However, I can tell you that we actually had to write some code to modify the Production Details program along with an authority file to store users names... This way we can allow only those users whose names are in that file to actually perform any maintenance, otherwise they are redirected to an enquiry screen... We've had to add field level security within some programs using the same method... Our motivation was to prevent anyone from changing the Routes and Structures because we use frozen standard costs that are set at the beginning of each year... We have since modified our AFI design to include a variance account thereby permitting our users to make route changes throughout the year while preserving the ability to derive an accurate variance value... We will be implementing the new AFI rules at the beginning of the next fiscal year... Short of custom code like this I do not see a solution for what I think you are describing... I am assuming here that the normal JBA security will not meet your needs. Good luck. Due to the complexity of the formula the R & D lab want to be able to supervise the production of each batch of these 'restricted' products. Can JBA handle this, ie. is there the facility to limit which user can raise a batch card for particular products. We are on 3.5.2b sp 2 Thanks, Gary. +--- | This is the JBA Software Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message send your mail to JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: doug333@aol.com. +--- +--- | This is the JBA Software Users Mailing List! +---
