We actually paid JBA to write a mod that would allow us to automatically run the MPS and MRP via Machine Manager every night without any user intervention whatsoever. It automatically calculates a 6 month horizon (or whatever you specify 1801 days etc.)... The problem with the exclusivity was that you could not even load the MRP job into MM when the MPS job was already scheduled... We run MPS and MRP for 10 plants every night using MM. This mod does require some setup (one record for each plant) in the 11/MDU Maintain Parameters option and it does work very nicely. The Novi office should be able to offer this mod to you if you're interested... Contact your account manager. Exclusivity is an interesting topic and it goes hand in hand with record locking... We've written some programs to make it easier to clear record locks... That makes life much easier... Later. This was done so that the user could update the current date, and planning horizon. The run was actually done at night, but the parms were updated during the day in machine manager.
