We are currently applying 3.5.2b from 3.5.1 in our test world. There are about 30 US language PTF's that are part of this. Some need to be applied before the 3.5.2 and some after. You must see Service Alert #334 for the info. The SA is not on the web site. We had a terrible time getting it from JBA. In regards to your earlier post: it seems that those who have stayed with JBA are harder worked then ever and harder to get in touch with. Service seems to be slower. As for the 3.5.2 upgrade. From what I hear about SP3 it is almost a new version (my words, JBA/GEAC denies this terminology) because of all the enhancements (Stockroom Locator, etc.). We did have several issues in applying the 3.5.2x to a test world because of hard coded library names within the ptf application code. For applying our mods from one release to another: We use a product called New Version (this is one of several available products from a variety of vendors) from Mortice Kern Systems International. We have had much success with this product in the past, but I have not seen any other products to compare it to. A recent regional user group indicated that most people were happy with 3.5.2 and many of the promised features do actually work (AI for example). There does seem to be a tremendous number of changes (enhancements) and we have already noticed that several menus have changed. I'm interested in any words of wisdom from anyone that has been through a version upgrade with JBA and also the stability of 3.5.2b. I'm particularly interested in any tools used to make the process less painless and/or ways in which modifications have been done to make things easier. This will be our second chance to do things "right". We have a fairly heavily modified system and also use Vertex Sales Tax with the JBA interface. Our initial plans call for doing the work on a second server and make sure everything is thoroughly tested. We plan on getting started when we can get the US version of Service Pack 3 and we'll work in the Vertex interface for 3.5.2 when it is released.
