Sometimes you just need to start over with a clean slate!
For a really clean slate, here is a REXX script to reroute and clear the
job log:

ARG post

IF post <> '' THEN DO
"RMVMSG PGMQ(*ALLINACT) CLEAR(*ALL)"
"RMVMSG PGMQ(*EXT) CLEAR(*ALL)"
EXIT 0
END

PARSE SOURCE osname invokemethod srcmbr srcfile srclib

"SNDPGMMSG TOPGMQ(*EXT)" ,
"MSGTYPE(*RQS)" ,
"MSG('STRREXPRC" srcmbr "SRCFILE("srclib"/"srcfile") PARM(post)')"

"RRTJOB"

And by all means, avoid the default activation group and QILE - both
are hard to handle and only "recoverable" by signing off / ending the job.

Anyway, rclrsc AFAIR does much of the cleansing a sign-off does. I have
been told about another command doing likewise, but I forgot about it.

Incidentally, I've been remembered about that command: rrtjob. This will
start a new "job step", closing out the previous one. It will end all OPM
and ILE activation groups, restoring the job to the way it was when you
first signed on.

:wq! PoC
