Hi Richard,

the OS has some powerful cryptography APIs - also SQL has ENCRYPT functions.

You only want to encrypt strings? Up to which size? Is varchar(32000) OK? Or CLOB?

I'm currently on the road, but would be happy to help you out and write a small blog post about it in some days.

HTH and kind regards,
Daniel

Hey do any of you have a good string encryption routine that is RPG based you would be willing to share ?

There seems to be a lack of good examples.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Richard Schoen
