Use SQL.

Open a session and type this:
VALUES DATE(TIMESTAMP_FORMAT('10/9/24', 'MM/DD/RRRR'))

or this:
VALUES DATE(TIMESTAMP_FORMAT('1/9/24', 'MM/DD/RRRR'))

...and you'll get the results you're looking for.
