The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

But you change the parameters / host variables every time?
In this case I can only shoot wild assumptions - DECLARE is no executable program statement - it is "executed" at compile time.
Maybe it's that - the DECLARE is executed / optimized at compile time, whereas the SELECT-INTO is executed / optimized at runtime.
Normally I would assume, that all static SQL statements are optimized at compile time - whereas dynamic SQL is of course only handled at runtime.
As I said - wild assumptions - maybe Barbara or Birgitta can clarify that.
