Actually, program-described mode can be very useful if (a) one needs to
access files whose structure is unknown at compile-time, or might even
be variable, (b) one is able to obtain the structure at runtime, and (c)
for whatever reason, using SQL instead of RLA is not an option.
Not a very common combination of circumstances, to be sure.
