I moved to using QSYS2.IFS_OBJECT_STATISTICS and it works for me.

I had a main program that was reading a cursor and calling the program with
IFSDIR for every row.

I was closing my cursor after a single fetch.

Ok, yeah...I was just glancing at it...

Hmmm...

How are you using it?

For instance, in his demo code, he is using it in a cursor and his code
includes a close of the cursor. Which should fire the close_event and thus
the closedir.

I didn't create it so I'm not sure how they did it. His CRTIFSDIR program
has NO FINAL CALL.
I'll try to run CRTIFSDIR again.

The error would imply that the closedir is not getting called...

Did you create everything using Scott's CRTIFSDIR program?

If you ran the CREATE FUNCTION manually, did you include FINAL CALL?
That's what should cause the closedir to be called.

I'm calling this many times to check if a file wildcard exists.
After
using it about 100 times it's returns this error:

1 -- The external program or service program returned SQLSTATE
38998.
The
text message returned from the program is: opendir: Too many open
files
for
this process. .

Has anyone seen this before?
