My question is why is it returning control to the program when the subfile is expanded and page up is used.

I’ve always disliked the folded vs dropped verbiage. So I’ll use “Expanded” and “Not Expanded”.

When the subfile is expanded you see 4 rows per page and you have 12 rows in the subfile.

The system treats this the same as a full load.
You won’t get control back until you page beyond the rows you have in the subfile.

The control returns when you are not expanded because you see all 12 rows on one page.
