QRCVDTAQ is equivalent to QSYS2.RECEIVE_DATA_QUEUE and will only get you one message.

If you use QRCVDTAQ without deleting the message, then it should return the same message on every call assuming the input is the same and as long as there are no other active processes running the api to remove any message.

QMHRDQM is equivalent to QSYS2.DATA_QUEUE_ENTRIES, which will allow you to extract all the messages on the queue.

Any process that "dumps" all the messages out of the queue without removing them is probably using QMHRDQM to complete the task.
