hi Jimmy, I think views are great, saves building stuff all over, we also do this but need only 1 program for each XML

Did you mean XMLTABLE, not SQLTABLE?

I found a couple articles at itjungle by Michael Sansoterra, DB2 FOR I XMLTABLE, from June and July, 2012, part 1 is good for XMLTABLE, part 2 is probably more than the OP needs right now but does show GET_XML_FILE at the end

Have done it. Though slightly different. An SQL wizard will probably
disapprove ...

Built SQL defined views using SQLTABLE and GET_XML_FILE functions over
the XML file in the IFS. The views then used in RPG/SQL/etc. It worked
fine as long as the XML structure wasn't too "deep" or it would require
making a bunch of views.

if yes, how would that be done. I have a XML file that contains about 50
000 entries and takes more than 6h to write to rationa database.
read de tags , save information in arrays , in the end move information
arrays to fields.
