Hi,
the first field "MANUAL" is decimal(5, 0) and directly defined on the
screen
the second field "DBREF" references a field in the Database which is also
decimal(5, 0)
Both have edtcde("Z") to suppress zeroes
Hope this helps!

Subject: Re: equivalent data type for packed field in Display file
so , i defined it with data type 'N' but when gave some name to this
field in DDS of display file then that name does not get displayed on the
screen i can see only once i put '?' just before that field on the screen i
mean once i do 17 then 12 against the record format under which this field
is being defined then i can see the name of this field which i gave while
designing it's DDS and can also see it's length but unlike other fields
names whose text is defined inside the DDS of this display file under
Functions.
i mean when i try to give some text for this field then i get this error
'"keyword 'whatever text name i give to this field' not valid for this
file
type".
So how can I get the name displayed on the screen without putting '?' for
the field which I want to define in my DDS for this Display file? Any
examples please ?
Thanks
