When you get an exception "G -- Continue processing at *GETIN" means
reading the next record.

You can also use *GETIN on an ENDSR statement. Never did.

But I don't think one can "GOTO *GETIN" as I never tried that either.

From memory, no there is not.
The only thing that broke out of the cycle was EXCPT and that was for
printing out of Detail or Total calculation.

If you have secondary files you have no way to force a read from the
primary.
All you can do is jump out of Detail Calcs with a GOTO a tag at end of
calcs.

What exactly are you doing? Are you using secondaries with Match fields
, do you have Levels ?
At detail time you can bypass unmatched secondaries with NMR.

I'm trying to remember: is there something for The Cycle, with a
primary file, that's equivalent to ITER in a FOR-loop or DO-loop?
Something that will jump to the next primary file read?

I don't see it in the manual, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place
