Hello Brian,

Have you also considered using the QMHSNDPM API instead of SNDPGMMSG?

Yes. This circuitous way is — to my knowledge — the only way to output a messages which stays in the message line even after the program itself has ended and the command line is appearing again. You're welcome to prove me wrong. ;-)

Also, I still can't get the concept about messages into my head. I understand, messages are a generic way for programs to "talk to each other", as well as users with snd(net)msg. But I easily get entangled in call-stack, different message types and whatnot. There were some old but helpful explanations on the mcpressonline.com site, but even then, the "klick" in my head didn't trigger.

:wq! PoC
