I would really be interested in seeing if we can make this easier. This is a tool that has not been touched in a while and it might be worth updating.

Please contact me directly. Thanks. ddykstal@xxxxxxxxxxx

Wow was the TAATOOL route ugly.

The first problem is it doesn't know how to use the libl for /copy lines. For example, QRPGLESRC,COPYMBR, it uses the first QRPGLESRC file in the libl and looks for member COPYMBR. When it doesn't find the copybook, it abends. So I had to edit and hard code the library names on all of the /copy lines.

I finally got it to run without abending.
32 pages of errors and warnings, many of them "couldn't find the field definition so the field was dropped".
It didn't like that the program was printing arrays so it changed the names on them. For example, QTY(1) in the o spec was changed to QTY$1$ in the DDS. It also has a variable named A with a value of 10 that was used to print the 10th occurrence in the o specs like QTY(A). That field was changed to QTY$A$ so the fact that "A" was a variable is lost in the conversion.

I'm heading for the JCRCMDS next.

Just discovered there is a TAATOOL command that is supposed to execute the conversion, CRTEXTPRTF. I have never used it before. If you try it, please post the results, good or bad. Thanks
