Yet another reason not to continue to work with old crap Darryl. Is it really not viable to simple convert to ROG IV? Not free-form - just a straight conversion.

But if you have to stay where you are ... then I guess passing a 256 field which is the first in a DS of at least 400 bytes would be the way to go.

By the way - do you really mean the editor? Or the compiler? The editor wouldn't have a clue about the field length.

I am working on a rpg/400 program adding a call to a program that has one of
its parameter sizes defined as 400 bytes.

When I added the parameter to the call, the editor rejects the variable
because it is greater than 256 characters.

I defined the variable as a data structure.

Is it possible to use a parameter of 400A or do I have to split it into 2
fields. This is not the desired way to do this.

TIA
