My GETURI software will do this quite easily.--

It's as easy as this command (APIs and ILE functions also available):
GETURI URI('www.site.com/path/to/file.pdf') OUTPUT(*STMF)
STMF('/myfiles/file.pdf') SPRHEAD(*YES)
The SPRHEAD option says to suppress headers from the output that is
created so your PDF doesn't get corrupted.
