Cross-posted to WEB400

As you should have seen I've already posted the status update.

As far as migration - the Seiden Group are the go-to people for this - they have a video of a presentation they gave on the subject here: https://www.seidengroup.com/2020/06/23/how-to-video-the-zen-of-using-php-without-zend-server/ <https://www.seidengroup.com/2020/06/23/how-to-video-the-zen-of-using-php-without-zend-server/>

There's also the original docs from Zend from back in January https://www.zend.com/blog/installing-community-php-ibm-i <https://www.zend.com/blog/installing-community-php-ibm-i>.

I suggest though that if you want to discuss this further then follow this new thread on the WEB400 list - it doesn't really belong here. I've cross-posted this to WEB400 to start it off.

Jon, when you get confirmation I would be interested in the process to
switch from Zend version to community version. Have you done this ?

I am hoping there is some links or documentation or example or ??

Apologies - I could have sworn that that was how I installed the
community edition.

No problem. I get fuzzy on installation details all the time.

IBM were saying only the other day in a briefing that the community
edition was now the supported replacement for the Zend Server. I guess it
just isn't there yet.

It might be that "supported replacement" doesn't preclude having to
point your package manager to a non-IBM repo. I didn't see/hear the
briefing, so I don't know the exact verbiage, but maybe "supported"
doesn't even mean "supported by IBM". And regardless of *who* supports
it, it could easily be different than who *hosts* it.
