I looked at Simon Hutchinson's site - the link posted here - I also posted a couple comments there, since I was pretty sure I'd seen these manuals in current Knowledge Centers.

On the most current (same as 7.1) KC main page is a link for "PDF Files and Manuals" - on THAT page is a link to "additional reference manuals", and THAT page, again, gives a list that includes the RPG/400 manuals, as well as ADTS and other stuff for you SDA and RLU folks, right?   :)

You don't get to download them on this page, but there's a link to "IBM Publications Center" - from there you can download any of these for free.

In addition, RDi has the RPG/400 information in the help - position anywhere in an RPG source type, and you are brought to its help.

Admittedly, the full manual isn't in an obvious place, maybe - it's in the Rational Developer for i section of whatever version (I'm using 9.6.0), not in the programming section of IBM i 7.4, where the ILE stuff is. There IS a link in that section, again, to the "IBM Publications Center" - and the Programming Guide is available only from that site.

***** May I put in a strong-enough plug for using RDi? So much information is there at a press of an F1 key!!! *****

Cheers
Vern

but why in the world are you restricting yourself to fixed format?  Free-form calcs have been around for more that SIXTEEN (16) years!
Another occasion to point out that a) I'm what might today be called a retrocomputing hobbyist and b) V4R5 does only support positional RPG. :-)
