Unless you convert to "real" ILE and stick with DftActGrop(*Yes) - which is the default by the way- then AGsnever come into play. The program runs exactly like an RPG III program.

Yes and no. There are certainly pitfalls with activation group handling. Then, I only coded OPM RPG once, 10 years ago. My rationale was: Less features, probably easier to learn. Shortly after, I switched entirely to RPG IV: Much more space per line!
