Agreed. I always fumble around looking for record length.

And, editing is so so easy. Even before RDi, I gave up on RLU. I'd layout reports in Notepad++ and translate to DDS.

RDi has its own set of comments embedded at the bottom - I don't think
it recognizes RLU options. And it's embedded content is for how things
are presented in RDi, not for compilation that I know of. They are used
for sample screens and reports and all.

To change the record length is not exactly an obvious thing in my
experience - I think you have to take the tab that lets you define
reports - someone please show me a better way!

Now I do find that much editing is easier to do in RDi than it is in RLU
- drag-drop stuff is fantastic, maybe the best feature.

Greg, do you use RDi? The Print Designer tool allows me to do this - and
is much nicer than RLU. (Compiles OK too.)

Case in point.. I have a printer file that is 100 positions wide.  I added a field using a variable width font (i.e. fine print at the bottom of the document).  When filled, the field data goes about 60% across the page.  Because of the font size, I could easily make this field 160, but RLU won't allow it.

Any way around this?
