The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Well when you do an Extra you are branching out of the range of instructions bracketed by the Monitor code - so I guess I'm not that surprised although if this is indeed the case I would expect the docs to reflect it.
MONITOR should handle exceptions in a called subroutine. If you replace
the CALL statement with say a pointer-not-set error, it gets caught in
both programs.
Martin, I recommend that you contact IBM about this.
To get a pointer-not-set error:
dcl-s x int(10) based(p);
x = x + 1; // MCH3601: Pointer not set
(Breaking my own private rule not to get involved in discussions that
look like they might be a compiler bug ...)
