I found that the regex C library on IBM i is compatible with PCRE - used in
Pearl, PHP and SQL REGEXP_REPALCE etc.

so when you test your regex, you can use https://regex101.com/ and select
PCRE as flavor.

Maybe someone can confirm this...

Another thing I came across is that the regex string have to be in CCSID
37, or set by locale. This can trigger that you backslash is not detected
and will be interpreted as a straight up char. which means you macth looks
for the "backslas d" combination and not the digits

As far as I remember - I have used the \d but can not find an example. It
works in PCRE.
