Still a thing?? You bet! I actually run this on a couple machines when they are bone idle. My Windows and Linux machines mostly.

A true i version (not PASE) for the Bitcoin Reference client would be a nice challenge. Utilizing the integrated Database, not some IFS file, of course. Not for Mining, but for participating in the countless mirrors of the Bitcoin Blockchain for even more redundancy. :-)
