No - QILE is a _named_ Activation Group and only ILE programs can run there. It just happens to be the default _name_.

The default AG which is where all OPM code runs (and is where you start when you sign on) - it doesn't have a name - it just IS.

Originally the default AG was not going to allow ILE programs to run in it, but for a variety of reasons this restriction was removed prior to the first ILE release (V2R3). An ILE program will run in the default if called from the default _and_ it specifies *CALLER as its AG.

The changes in LIC were HUGE.

Nope - Very deliberate. It is the name selected by IBM as the default value to be used for the activation group if the programmer did not specify an alternative. No different to QRPGLESRC or any other IBM selected default name.

Thanks for correcting me. So, is this by chance the name of the default activation group where the OS runs OPM programs in? I guess the advent of ILE made changes on LIC-level necessary.
