There isn't something like this, first, because there is not a true DS component in CL.

I have used the *BASED part of defining variables to get something that is like a DS, you could have a parameter that is the size of the DS, then have the subfields defined with *BASED. Then a DS from RPG could be passed to the CL or vice versa, I suppose.

I think an RFE would be good, not sure it would be prioritized, but if you get lots of votes from all your relatives and everyone in your hometown...   :)

Is there a way to import a DS defined in a *SRVPGM or another *MODULE inside a CLLE module ?
Like:
DCLF FILE(someExtDS) IMPORT(someExtDSfromSRVPGMorMODULE)

So the file and all its sub-fields inside the CLLE get initialized with the values of the DS of the service program in the exact same way with RPGLE ?

If not, is there a RFE open for this?

Thanks
