If you make an account on PUB400, there's a few games on it (iirc it's GO
GAMES).

But yes, it's perfectly possible to make games on i or predecessors - RPG
or puzzle games are very doable on a green screen UI. Even animations are
doable - I'm currently working on a demo I'm planning to submit to a local
demoscene party. One way to achieve animations on 5250 is to abuse INVITE
processing (see
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/program-example-automatically-refreshing-screen-using-opm-rpg400
).

If you want sound, that's hard, but not impossible either. Example:
* Use an InfoWindow II's LPT port to drive a OPL3LPT
* Drive a OPL2/3 over an async line
* map a PCI sound blaster to an integrated network server card and come up
with a form of IPC to drive it.

not on AS/400, but maybe on IBM i running some jobs

Didn't CGIDEV2 (or at least CGIDEV) run on AS/400?

Also, if you can get your hands on an old version of iSeriesPython
(like 2.3.3) then you could also use Python for Web development on
AS/400.
