Its all according how fancy you want to get. You can write a program (rpg) that will create a batch file on the pc with whatever length string you need. Then just run that batch program.

Subject: Re: command string to long for STRPCCMD PCCMD()

hmmm...

When I run STRPCCMD from a command line it works as expected. When I use the same text as a command in QCMDEXC it truncates. As I use copy/paste I rule out a typo.

Booth,

You don't mention how long your link is, but
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/strpccmd-pccmd-parameter-limited-123
-characters
mentions
support for up to 1023 byte command strings depending on your release
level (and I suspect you are using 7.2 or higher, in which case you
already have this level of support).
