I can't directly answer your question, but, we're at i7.4 right now, and the following method worked for us on i7.3. I don't believe we ran it under V7R2. You might try using this method instead.

DCL-PR evaluateAllFormulaCells EXTPROC(*JAVA : 'org.apache.poi.xssf.+
usermodel.XSSFFormulaEvaluator' : 'evaluateAllFormulaCells' )
STATIC;
book OBJECT(*JAVA : XSSF_WORKBOOK_CLASS );
END-PR ;

Subject: V7R3 POI/HSSF Java Issue After Upgrade from V7R2

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.

After upgrading to V7R3 from V7R2 we have a function that is failing as part of the POI/HSSF software.

The only change that has been made between the two releases related to the code is the set environment was changed to use Java 8 vs Java 6. When debugging the program, the evaluate method seems to work for some formulas, but not all. Have tested against spreadsheets that were imported prior to the upgrade and have the same issue so doesn't seem to be specific to the spreadsheet. Any ideas where to look?

Below is the error code:
