Let's say you created a table like this:
Create table I_like_long_names for system name shortname (
My_column_name for column C01 varchar(100),
...)

And you want to use just the long names in RPG, can this be done with
dcl-f I_like_long_names disk keyed usage(*update) alias;
// alias says to use the long column names

Or do you have to do something like this to use the long table name too?
dcl-f file1 disk keyed usage(*update) alias extdesc(i_like_long_names);


Yes, just use the ALIAS keyword.
