What about %check()? Something like this:

if (%check('ABCD': fielda) <> 0);
// fielda contains a character that
// is not in 'ABCD'
endif;

I can't find it anywhere if it does exist. I see there is a similar %MAX and %MIN, but nothing like the example above.
