I hit Enter too early
Something like
Clear Answerfield;
Exec sql Select :fielda into :Answerfield from SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1
Where :fielda in('A', 'B', 'C', 'D');
If Answerfield <> ' ';
Etc.

You could change your RPGLE program to SQLRPGLE - and then actually use the SQL

Subject: [EXTERNAL] RPG compare list code
Does anyone know if there is an RPG equivalent to the SQL "IN()" construct? It would be useful to say something like:
If fielda in('A', 'B', 'C', 'D') then...
Instead of this "OR" syntax
If fielda = 'A' or fielda = 'B' or fielda = 'C' or fielda = 'D' then...
I can't find it anywhere if it does exist. I see there is a similar %MAX and %MIN, but nothing like the example above.
Thank you,
Doug
