In this case they were are citing PHP examples.
Would I like to learn something new? Absolutely! My problem is time -
taking the time learn something like running their PHP example script.

I think that is the case for a lot of us. It is one of the reasons I think
it is worth exploring the open source PASE options. Node.js in particular
but also Python are closer to "speaking the same language"
as what you're likely to encounter in the documentation. They also provide
higher-level libraries for talking with Web services than HTTPAPI. Finally,
you don't generally have to worry about EBCDIC when you're working in PASE.
I realize there are reasons people would want or even need to stick to
RPG. I don't mean to dissuade anyone from using RPG. But for folks who can
and would like to explore other options, it's now easier than ever with the
RPM-based offerings.
