If you have python installed on the iSeries there are doubtless some
packages that will provide the functionality you require for a trivial
amount of coding.

I haven't researched any of them but https://pypi.org/project/pdf2jpg/ for
example claims to do just this.

Scott Klement has instructions on his site for installing imagemagick on
IBM i, but that is for a very old version. You may need to experiment a
little to get a newer version working. There are likely more dependencies
than the old version. However, your use case is simple enough that the
older version may work well enough to play around with it. I still
recommend getting to the current version before going to production though.
