Hi again

A service program is similar to a DLL in Windows - it has executable
code that cannot run on its own - it has to be connected or bound to a
program, then procedures in the service program can be called from the
main program.

You might be thinking of a web service - it does interface between a
server and a client.

What is a service program? Is that a program that interfaces between
the web and the
AS400? As in the AS400 calls the service program which writes the data
to the web,
receives it back and passes it back to the awaiting AS400 program?

If, in the end, if you are going to be delivering a web services json
product you might consider using the IWS web services wizard, which does
all the json work for you. Your task is only to write the service program,
using data structures that you already use.

I have very little knowledge of JSON and am researching how to code it
inside ibm rpg programs. Where would be my best resource for
information? For one is there a good json reference book I could
purchase that would be geared for newbies? Does IBM have any sort of
reference that would contain a lot of information on json coding?

Any information to point me in the right direction would be helpful.
