I don't consider CGI on IBMi to be obsolete. Sure there are newer options for doing web apps and services, but that doesn't automatically make older options obsolete (PHP is another example of an older option). As a mature technology, CGI gets less press coverage than the hot new thing that everyone is excited about.

CGI on other platforms is a different topic. I'm also not including CGIDEV2, which is a CGI framework not CGI itself.

The discussion about HTTP Servers and Web Servers has got my thinking about
CGI programming.

To my understanding, CGI programming is a long obsolete way of doing web
pages. That much more modern ways exist of generating HTML and building web
pages.

Am I correct here?
