It's a tool... There are many tools that will yield the same results. As a developer, it's up to you to choose the right tool for the job.
A carpenter still uses an (obsolete) hammer nearly every day... not because he likes obsolete tools, but because many times it makes no sense to use an air-nailer.

The discussion about HTTP Servers and Web Servers has got my thinking about CGI programming.
To my understanding, CGI programming is a long obsolete way of doing web pages. That much more modern ways exist of generating HTML and building web pages.
Am I correct here?
