Have you tried just presenting the .json file itself? ie..
yoursite.com/myfile.json

Or if you need to build it then display it, that should be easy enough with
CGIDEV2 or eRPGSDK:

Look at the DSPJSON sample. Super simple. Of course this is just
displaying the file. Doing this with CGIDEV2 would be easy too. I know you
mentioned you didn't want ancillary products, but using one of these would
be to your benefit in the long run.

If not, I could through together an example that uses just the CGI APIs...
but that's nasty when you have such nice toolkits like the above.
