Do you really need the API or will SQL be an option?
If SQL is an option, check the SYSTABLESTAT or SYSPARTITIONSTAT views.

Subject: API for file last change date
I would like to use an API to retrieve the date & time the data in a
physical file was last changed?
This would be the same date/time as CL command - RTVMBRD FILE(lib/file)
CHGDATE(&VAR1) would return. (or DSPFD & bottom)
I can retrieve the date the object was created with using QDBRTVFD format
'FILD0100' or QUSRMBRD format 'MBRD0200', but I'm having trouble with the
change date.
Thanks
Ron
