He had something on using fopen, fread, fclose c apis that was quite
friendly for reading ifs text files. (I've used them, it's been a few
years though)

I am trying to read a text file on the IFS with the C routines. I used
Scott Klement's "Working with the IFS in RPG IV" document as my starting
point.
The problem I am having is that it seems to be skipping the first two byes
of the file. Here is my code
After the read is executed, in debug mode, I look at temp and it is
missing the first two bytes of the file.
What am I doing wrong?
