I looked the site Giovanni cited - it doesn't seem so obscure to my old eyes.

People or companies, in this context, are one of 2 things there - either a contributor to the site or not. Site contributors (there is a footnote explaining this) can freely download everything and will have access to premium support by, I assume, Giovanni (or whoever is the developer of a utility - that might be just a touch obscure!)

These benefits are available during the time the contribution is in effect - might be a year, i did not do as Giovanni said, to try downloading something like MMAIL to see what a minimum contribution is.

Giovanni everywhere calls this a contribution - maybe there could be a legal distinction to make between that and a donation - IANAL.

I see that some utilities are free to download the 1st time - I assume that future downloads are allowed only to a site contributor - the latter always have download allowed.

Now if the minimum contribution IS $50, then this opens you up to downloading EVerything on the site, not MMAIL only.

I hope this makes sense and that my understanding is valid.
