You may be thinking of "Allow repeated change" (ALWREPCHG) parm of the
ADDPFTRG command...

That allows a before trigger to update the row.

Only needed for external triggers. SQL triggers have it set by default.

Hi All,

I have been using RPG triggers to sync other files. Works great.

When a user enters/updates a customer address (using vendor maintenance
screens) I want to scrub the data using Works Right address verification.

On a Before Update trigger I would take new data, scrub it and change the
data stream so when it updates it uses the new corrected data.

I seem to remember there was something "special" I needed to do that
allows me to change the data stream.

Am I mis-remembering or is that correct?

I can't change the vendor pgms and scrub it there so I have to deal with
it downstream.
