Assuming you have no typos in what you wrote, it should be:

docNode = yajl_stmf_load_tree( '/home/Martin/Louie.json' : errMsg ); // quotes and leading / required.

Are you doing this all this (WRKLNK and your YAJL program) from the same job? In other words is there any possibility it is a permissions issue?
