Tracing a ILE (RPGLE/SQLRPGLE) program question.

What I have is the desire to run a program from start to finish and log
each line as called to a file, changes in variables, and such, so that I
can either print or query the results. The issue being that this process
does jump around a bit and had step debugging would be time consuming.

Now I have found some information about the SRCDBGPGM parameter of STRBG
and sample code (in C) on the knowledge center as well as search400
(traceit) but I decided to ask here is that something I can accomplish
through the APIs or is there a good third party resource?
